A Tide Clock is perfect for tracking the movement of the moon around the earth. On most coasts, the moon contributes about 67% of the combined tides between it and the sun. The tide clock is divided into two approximately 6-hour tide periods, showing the average length of time between high and low tide.

General Information: The west coasts of Europe and Africa and the east coasts of North and South America follow the semi-diurnal pattern of twice high tide and twice low tide more or less equally spaced, so your tide watch can be used here . However, on other coasts, such as the west coast of North and South America, the tides are not regular semi-diurnal and therefore cannot be determined with standard tide clocks.
